Tea and Jeopardy 20 – A Chat with James Moran
The twentieth episode of Tea and Jeopardy is now live and you can find it here.
In this episode, the supremely talented James Moran, screenwriter of Severance, Cockneys Vs. Zombies and Tower Block, is invited into the secret lair for cake and tea. We talk about hell, waiting and other aspects of the writerly life. He reveals a hidden talent and an unfortunate jinx.
If you’ve listened and got an answer for the question I asked at the end, be a bless-poppet and leave your answer in the comments below.

Animated gems–some of the lesser lights.
Sure!
Atlantis the Lost Empire is a highly underrated Disney film
Titan A.E. is also a lot of fun
And although its imperfect, I am a sucker for Treasure Planet.
There you go. 🙂
I’ll agree with Paul that Treasure Planet is an underrated gem. You may also like Howl’s Moving Castle if you haven’t seen it.
Please excuse my saying so, but your butler seems to become more and more sinister each time we hear you taking tea with a guest. This time, if I recall correctly, he actually said “Bad news” when the giant missed Paul Cornell and his house.
Who is Latimer, or maybe, what is he? Does he have some sort of agenda beyond buttling for you? Or, if these really aren’t questions one can ask of one’s butler, did he at least have good references when he started working for you?
If you haven’t seen ‘Maria Watches Over Us’, you might like it. It is a Japanese anime series, but hasn’t been dubbed into English (yet). It is a very sweet social drama set in a Catholic high school in Japan, but it is neither especially religious nor what you might assume a series about a high school for girls would be like. It has no ‘fanservice’, the character designs are not sexualized, and despite the complete lack of action scenes I find it fascinating 🙂 And right now you can watch all four seasons on YouTube:

Note ‘nozomient’ is the US publisher of the English dub, so these are legitimate uploads.
